Introduction:

  • The Nervous System is made up of the Central and Peripheral Nervous
    Systems.
  • The Central Nervous System is composed of the brain and spinal column.
  • The Peripheral Nervous System is made up of the nerves and ganglia
outside of the brain and spinal column.  It's main function is to connect the
Central Nervous System to the limbs and organs.  This system is made up
of the  Autonomic and Somatic Nervous Systems.
  • The Autonomic Nervous System affects things at a subconscious level such
as heart rate, digestion, respiration, perspiration, etc.
  • The Somatic Nervous System is associated with the voluntary control of
body movements through the use of skeletal muscles, skin and sense organs.
  • These systems control every function in the body, from the beating of the
heart to the secretion of hormones to the moving of muscles
  • Problems can be divided into six basic categories – depression, general brain
